Gastronomy
Calafell has an excellent variety of dishes based especially on seafood products. At many of our good restaurants you will encounter exquisite dishes made with the fish of the day, as fresh and tasty as you will find in very few other places.
But if there are certain dishes that characterise us and do honour to the traditional cooking of Calafell, these are rossejat and xató. Served on an earthenware plate, they are a delight for even the most demanding gourmet. All these dishes must be accompanied by wines and cavas (sparkling wines) bearing the Penedès denomination of origin to get even more enjoyment out of an unforgettable meal.

…Discover the village, get surprised and enjoy it!

Iberians and Romans, Arabs and feudal lords, they are all part of Calafell’s history. As an open door to the Mediterranean, Calafell combines the richness of its historic heritage with the powerful attraction of five golden fine sand beaches, unique along the Costa Daurada, certified in environmental management with UNE-EN ISO 14001:2004.
The Iberian Citadel, Carlos Barral’s House, the Lifeboat, Sant Miquel Church or the Holy Cross Castle are some history evidence which guide us through time up to the present time and lets as combine music, sports, the sea, a fine table to eat -with the sea flavour of our best “arrossejat”-, our traditional Xató or the sweetness of our typical dessert, “cossetans”.
