Gastronomy

The food in Cunit is a good example of Mediterranean cuisine. You will be able to find both meat and seafood dishes such as fish stews, dry and moist rice dishes, grilled meats, game, grilled vegetables and calçots, the typical young onions that are popular in Catalonia.

Our restaurateurs take good advantage of the quality of the products they use and their culinary know-how to offer customers a rich and imaginative variety of dishes.

At any time of the year we recommend you try garrofins, a home-made dessert typical of Cunit made with egg yolks, flour, ground almonds and the special ingredient that characterises it: carob flour.

Fondo d’en Roig Iberian Site

This is a small rural settlement (a farm) which was used during the Iberian period. It
is one of the few settlements of the type so far identified in Catalonia and this turns it
into a key archaeological site to understand life in Iberian society along the Cossetan
coast.
Fondo d’en Roig is also a unique settlement in the sense that it has been finally located
under a motorway bridge..

‘Doing your own thing in Cunit’

Masia de Cal Pla (Catalan country house)

Apart from its characteristic beaches, which are protected by breakwaters that turn them into peaceful and cosy coves, Cunit has a mountain and woodland area greatly valuable for its nature and landscape, which is worthy to discover.

To enjoy this natural and cultural inheritance at your own pace and according to your schedules and wills, we put forward the so-called eco-tourist tours: Cunit al teu aire (Doing your own thing in Cunit), six track routes that will lead you to little treasures like Sant Antoni cave, a group of Catalan country houses of all styles and
applications or wonderful and natural belvederes along the coastline.

Doing it calmly, no hurry, doing your own thing...

Saint Christoper’s Church

Saint Christoper's Church

Cunit’s church still keeps the front side of a primitive Romanesque-style temple dating back to the 12th Century, which, today, is the sacristy. It is important to note that this Romanesque church is the closest built example to the sea on records. The sacristy consists of three apses forming a cross, each of them with three windows, with half a dome on top. The inside part of these apses is in perfect condition.
